CRAVEN necklace in Steel and Mustard
I am constantly inspired by the designers and artists of the 1950's and 1960's. I love their use of bold geometric shapes and fine lines, and I find that this aesthetic translates well into fabric and stitch.
The pendant is made from an Off White linen and is fully interfaced to provide structure. I have bound the edges using embroidery threads in Steel and Mustard. This is suspended beneath a hammered brass bar and hung from a chain of gold vermeil (sterling silver plated with 18ct gold).
I have enamelled the brass bar to prevent tarnishing. All findings are 18ct gold vermeil. The pendant measures 70x35mm and the chain is 22" long trace chain.
