This embroidery was inspired by Mid-century pattern design. I love using collaged shapes to create well balanced compositions. I then like to create flow and texture within the shapes by using different threads and wool.
I have used several different embroidery stitches to create this modern sampler, using embroidery threads in Rose, Cobalt Blue and Ecru.
The fabric section of the wall hanging measures 20x14 cm. The brass pieces can be adjusted to go as high or low as you'd like.
The fabric is a deep Indigo Wool and Cashmere blend. I have used enamelled brass tubes to hang the piece from with a pale grey thick cotton thread.
